Why Diversity and Inclusion matter to your Board and organization
Whether hiring your executive, crafting your nonprofit's board, determining strategy, allocating resources, or serving your community with authenticity, the board's leadership on diversity, inclusion, and equity (DI&E) — matters.
While more nonprofits are starting to realize that DI&E—or lack thereof—impacts the effectiveness of the board and organization, the goal of cultivating inclusive boards remains elusive to many.
How do you create the right mix of individuals with diverse perspectives, skills, backgrounds, and chemistry that allows for the effective execution of governance?
In this interactive, hands-on workshop, we will engage participants in the process of learning and discovering, focusing on the why, how, and what it takes to do DI&E work. The program is designed for Board Chairs, Governance Committee members and Executive Directors of nonprofits in the early stages of DI&E and organizations that are ready for fine-tuning.
The workshop will be led by Andy Davis, Senior Director of Education and Outreach for Board Source and Vernetta Walker, President and, CEO of Walker & Associates, a consulting company that helps organizations maximize their impact through exceptional leadership, intellectual engagement, and cultural competence.
