Martha's Vineyard Nonprofit Collaborative (MVNC) would like to invite our nonprofit colleagues to join a brief presentation and Q&A about a potential group purchasing option for employee/family health insurance coordinated by The Capital Group in collaboration with the Center for Nonprofit Advancement.

Thursday, March 10, 2022
9:30am

MVNC has been researching opportunities for healthcare plans to meet the needs of our smaller nonprofits unable to take advantage of the cost savings afforded to larger companies. Outside of working with the MA Health Connector, the most competitive plan we have found utilizes the Aetna network and negotiates competitive rates through the power of group purchasing by nonprofits across the country.

Some advantages identified include:

  • True first dollar coverage – 100% coverage after premiums are paid.  No deductibles or even copays for doctors’ visits, prescriptions, tests, hospitalization or any other services on the plan.
  • Uses the Aetna national provider network
  • Pools nonprofit employers to achieve maximum discounts and savings with the insurance carrier.
  • Composite ratings for groups – all singles, ee.+1, families pay the same rate.  Not the age based ratings you currently have in the small group market

We encourage you to join this time sensitive conversation or if you cannot attend to send a representative in order to learn more about this healthcare option and give MVNC feedback on the potential for value for Island nonprofits. Please note we will need a large enough group of interested nonprofit employees and their families to secure these rates.
