Program Evaluation Using Meaningful Data

Part Two of a series on Data Management with MVNC and January Advisors

The first part of this workshop will focus on identifying meaningful data for evaluation and improvement. Next, we will showcase different data science approaches to analyze, visualize, and communicate data insights. The final part of this workshop will be a Q&A session with January Advisors' Principal Data Scientist, Dr. David McClendon.

Using the contextual knowledge provided in the first session Creating an Impactful Data Strategy workshop, we will build upon these concepts further and teach participants how to identify key metrics that guide program strategy and promote continuous improvement. The session will be a 75-minute presentation with exercises and a 15 minute Q&A session.

About the Presenters 

David is a Principal Consultant and oversees all of the research and data science projects at January Advisors. After receiving a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin, David worked for Pew Research and Children at Risk before joining January Advisors in 2018. Since then, he has led dozens of engagements, including data-focused projects in early childhood education, Census 2020, disaster recovery, the cost of hospital care, as well as studies of evictions, debt collections, and other civil court activity across the country

January Advisors is a data science and technology consulting firm based in Houston. We specialize in nonprofit and public sector clients, working on projects related to technology policy, data strategy, cloud infrastructure, data analysis, and data visualization.
