NONPROFIT SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Responding to requests from the previous Fundraising MV meeting, we have invited the founding partners of Shored Up Digital to help you better understand social media and improve your profile and digital presence.

Participants will leave this session equipped with best practices on how to utilize social media and integrate it into an existing fundraising plan. This presentation and subsequent discussion will include:

  •  An overview of Shored Up digital & a review of their existing nonprofit clients and how they have used social media to expand their profile and access.
  • Discussion of social media statistics, nonprofit specific tips and tricks and optimizing websites using free tools.
  •  Review of several apps, tools and best practices that can be used to start a social strategy, streamline and maintain it.
  • Explore the importance of email marketing and best practices.
  • Consistently brand across platforms.
  • Use web and social analytics to inform marketing and define target audience.
  • Reinforce the importance of making donations online, website navigation and Launch marketing campaigns that amplify current fundraising efforts.

Marnely Murray is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, now working as a sous chef, food blogger, and social media consultant on Martha's Vineyard. As a food blogger on Cooking with Books, Marnely's developed a brand of over 40,000 followers on her social media platforms. Not only a social media manager for Island clients, she is also a brand strategist for national food brands.

Angela Prout began her career at BBDO New York, one of the country's leading advertising agencies. She has always been fascinated with the creative ways that brands engage their consumers and their ability to develop meaningful relationships online.
