Purpose-Driven Leadership with Jim Taylor a Discussion about Authorized Voice and Power 

Wednesday, November 10th from 12pm to 1:30pm (Zoom)

In this follow-up to the September program, Board Source's Jim Taylor, Vice President of Leadership Initiatives, will continue to explore and discuss the tenets of purpose driven leadership. He will explore and provide concrete examples on how nonprofit Boards can pivot from their traditional operating norms to become more diverse in their compositions, more inclusive in their cultures, and more equity-focused in how they see their work (and the world). 

Part two will continue work  from Part one on the 4 Principles of Purpose Driven Board Leadership and what these mean in our boardrooms:

• Purpose before organization: prioritizing the organization's purpose versus the organization itself.
• Respect for the ecosystem: acknowledging that the organization's actions can positively or negatively impact its surrounding ecosystem and commit to being a respectful and responsible ecosystem player.
• Equity mindset: committing to advancing equitable outcomes and interrogating and avoiding how the organization's strategies and work may reinforce systemic inequities.
• Authorized voice and power: recognizing that organizational power and voice must be authorized by those impacted by the organization's work.
